Nancy and I drove from her house and met Kathy at Boone Hall Plantation just outside of Charleston. It was a gorgeous day and we loved everything about our visit. So much history. We heard a great Gullah presentation including stories and songs about the slaves who lived on the plantation. The house itself has been used in a lot of films including "The Notebook," "North and South," and "Queen."

We took the carriage ride through the plantation and saw cotton fields, pecan orchards, apple orchards, strawberry fields, etc. They had part of the property set up for Halloween.
After our wonderful visit to Boone Hall Plantation, we headed to Shem Creek in Mt. Pleasant for dinner at Red's. I had the Low Country Boil. It was good, but not nearly as good as the one Eric makes!
