St. George, Day 2, May 2021

Day 2, we got up and had breakfast, Mike and Janice made us some sandwiches, we loaded up my backpack with lunch and waters and headed to Zion!  We arrived early but found no parking inside the park, so Mike and I were dropped off and Cal and Janice found parking just outside the park a bit and hiked back in.  They take such good care of us.

We caught our shuttle and took it to the last stop where we did the Riverside Trail down to the start of the narrows.  We didn't have proper narrows shoes or waders so we stopped there and people watched for a bit.  Zion National Park really is an amazing place.  I'm so grateful we were able to get shuttle tickets and go enjoy it's beauty.

After Zion, we went back to the house and showered and rested up for our evening at Tuachan.  It's a beautiful outdoor amphitheater that is built right into the red rock.  First we ate at Freddy's, then headed to Beauty and the Beast!  It was the first show since they opened back up after Covid!  It was incredible, the lights, the singing, the dancing, the acting!  It was all very much equal to Broadway.

We had such a wonderful day!  Sunday morning, we watched our church service on Zoom and then headed home.  We had a nice Mother's Day dinner at our house after we got back.  I didn't get a single picture, but we had a nice time with Eric, Hannah, Chase and Violet, Joni, Ellie and Reese, Meggy, Joel and Erin.  We grilled hot dogs and had lots of toppings including homemade J Dawgs sauce that Meggy whipped up.  We also had chips and dip, watermelon, some fresh cut up veggies and cake and ice cream.  It was a fun time and I felt loved by my family.  I face-timed with all of my boys and that's always a treat!
