Sophie, Tucker, and Mav, Portuguese Immersion, 3/17

Mike picked me up at the airport and drove me straight to Tyler and Jaimee's so I could watch their kids for them while they went to Las Vegas!  Las Vegas was the place to go this spring!  Ryan and Ali took their girls there for their Spring Break!  Mike stayed overnight and took Tyler and Jaimee to the airport on Saturday morning, March 18.  I had fun with the kids, but watching babies is hard, first Nora, then Maverick back to back is hard work for this old Grammy!

It's so fun to see these cute cousins growing up together!

I went home for a couple of days after meeting Tyler and Jaimee at the airport with their kids, rested up and hit the road for Utah on Friday.  We were headed to Provo for a week of 8-5 Portuguese Immersion at the MTC!  But first, we stopped at our friends the Simmons for dinner with them and our dear friends Gerilyn Brown and Becky and Ron Wheelwright.  We stayed overnight with them and had a nice breakfast on Saturday with Cal and Janice and Alex and Rachelle Haywood.  Then we headed to Joni's and had a nice day with her and her girls, Joel and Erin, Hannah, Chase, Eric and Jake.

Dinner at Lucy's Brazilian Kitchen in Provo

We had such a great experience at the MTC.  Our tutors, Todd Workman and Kalel Cascardi, as well as our learning coach Elsie and a myriad of volunteers worked with us hour after hour teaching us Portuguese and helping us to prepare for our mission!

On Sunday night we had an extra special treat of attending the MTC Devotional.  The BYU Men's Chorus did a fireside and it was exceptional!  It was maybe the last time we get to see Eric perform with them before he graduates.  Larry and Wendy Braithwaite are the senior missionary coordinators at the MTC so Larry was able to get us tickets!  We took Hannah, Chase and Livi with us.  We loved it so much!

The beautiful blooming trees at the MTC!

On Wednesday night we treated Cindi and Jeff (where we stayed) to dinner at Carrabas in Orem.  We love being with them so much and they are always so generous to let us come and stay with them.
After dinner, we had a rousing girls versus boys game of Rook (our rules) and Cindi and I won!  We promise them a rematch when we come back to the MTC in July!

On Thursday night, we had an MBM senior missionary reunion at Archibald's Restaurant at Gardner's Village.  It was fun to reconnect with the dear friends we made while we were serving in Boston!

We love President and Sister (Dan and Alison) Packard so very much!
Our sweet Sister Roy chatting with President Packard at the MBM missionary reunion on Friday night at the Wilkinson Center at BYU.

Our dear First Presidency at General Conference.  We drove home on Sunday but caught the morning session of conference on the radio.  What a thrill it always is to hear the love and counsel of these wonderful men and women who lead the church.  We are very blessed indeed!
