Fall 2010 Visit to Atlanta

Mike and I got to take a really fun trip to the Southeast.  We started by going to Atlanta to visit Steve and Jenny and their family.  They have been living in an apartment for the past year and were getting ready to move into this lovely home!  They were so excited to have more space and a big, fenced yard!

We spent Saturday afternoon and evening at Stone Mountain.  What a wonderful place to visit!
We toured the plantation and saw some very interesting buildings including slave quarters, kitchens, gardens, barns, etc.  They were setting up for some ghost stories.  We would have liked to have stayed for the stories, but we wanted to see the laser show more!

We had a nice picnic dinner in the woods next to Stone Mountain.

Such an amazing place!  This stone carving was started by the same man who did Mt. Rushmore.  He quit to go to South Dakota and others finished the project.

It was a fun time to be at Stone Mountain.  They had lots of fun
Halloween activities going on.

Waiting for the Laser/fireworks show to begin!
We look like we are at a Bronco game!
What a fun day at Stone Mountain!

We got to celebrate Mike's birthday in Atlanta.  The kids made
this sweet poster and Jenny made a nice dinner and apple pie!
We also got to be at their church for the Primary program.
Jenny is the Primary President and wrote the program.
It was excellent and all the kids did a great job with the
songs and their speaking parts.
The kids are crazy for their Grandpa!
