Snow Fun! December 24, 2009

We had so many Christmas blessings this year--I'm going to blog it in stages! This is Christmas Eve day and the day before it snowed and snowed, so, we woke up to a winter wonderland! Some of our Christmas blessings were---lots of family home for the holiday, lots of snow, lots of food, lots of love, and no one was sick! I don't think anyone even had a sniffle--well, maybe a teeny cat allergy or two, but not much! Miracle!!A perfect day to play in the snow and to build a snowman!! Here is Frosty's humble beginning. Justin came up from San Antonio and brought his awesome girlfriend, Mega, and her adorable 4 year old daughter, Mia! They fit into the family mix perfectly. Mia called me Grandma Moore and Mike, Grandpa, from the minute she met us, so she had us from Hello!
No one brought snow clothes, so everyone scrounged around our closets for whatever they could find! Ryan is always the funny man!

Stage two of Frosty! We were afraid the snow wouldn't pack because it was so new and light, but with some water, and slushy snow off the driveway, we got it to work really well.

Everyone was in on the fun!

Justin tossing Mia sky high! She had so much fun in the snow! They don't see much white stuff in San Antonio!

The boys doing what they do best--being boys, playing rough! Careful of Mia!!

Oops! They all fall down.

Frosty is complete! Not a bad looking fellow. Mia loved him! She kept an eye on him while she was here and was sad when he lost an eye or an arm to the warming weather!

The whole happy, snowy gang--minus the photographer, me.....but,

Here I am. Like I said, everyone got in on the fun. Playing in the snow is such a great family activity! Everyone can be involved and it's free!

Is everyone happy? Yeah!!!

The brothers! So much fun to see them all grown up with families of their own. Even Eric and Hannah, our little kids, are grown up! Bittersweet for sure! Moore to come.....

What is Christmas without family? It was wonderful having a small child with us who brought the excitement of Santa Clause along with our many traditions. We missed our other children who are in far away places. We talked with all of them by phone. 2009 was a tough economic year for many people in our country. Some of it effected us, but we came through okay. I'm excited to see Susan's next segment on the blog.

Looks like a blast - glad you could get all the boys together! My best snow memory was when my dad made an igloo for us girls and it lasted all winter - amazing how warm it was inside! It got way nasty by spring ... our dog liked it too and marked it a few too many times!

We need to post pictures of our snow-dino Glen and the kids made over the break. We got a ton of snow too. Love how pretty it makes everything right after it falls but I really enjoy watching it melt away too!
Can't wait to hear more of your Christmas!
