Moore Holiday Updates! November-December 2009

We got a new kitty for Christmas! We got her for Hannah and were going to surprise her on Christmas morning, but we just couldn't wait! We gave her to her on Saturday morning and she is so happy! So are all of us. We are in love with this little gal.
She's very affectionate and cuddly.

Hannah was spending the night at a friend's house on Friday night, so Eric and his friend, Nick, drove to Lafayette and picked up the kitten. We had so much fun getting to know her. She had fun exploring the house and getting acquainted with Molly. On Saturday morning, when Hannah came home, we told her some boys had come over the night before and left her a gift and that we had put it in her room. She was obviously very curious and went right up there. When she opened the door, the kitty was there and Hannah was sooo excited! She named her Lucy and we all love the name and the kitty.

She loves riding around and sleeping in Hannah's hoodie.

She's the perfect Christmas kitty.

Backing up a little further to Thanksgiving. We had some friends from our ward and the missionaries over for our turkey dinner. It was a lot of fun. The Trane's, who have been our friends for years and years came as well as a new family, the Radoviches. Actually the Radovich parents came and their kids spent the holiday week in California with their dad. We had a wonderful dinner--best turkey I ever made and yummy pies for dessert.

We had all the traditional foods--turkey, stuffing, rolls, potatoes and gravy, cranberry sauce, yams, green bean casserole and a yummy fruit salad.

Dave Trane conked out on the sofa. Some of us played games and some watched a football game. I think we all wanted to take a nap too! That turkey settling in always makes you tired.

Thanksgiving weekend we started decorating for Christmas. Friday, after Thanksgiving, I took down all the fall decor and started with the red and the green! Eric hung the outside lights with the help of Dad and the missionaries.

Backing up still further....Eric's 18th Birthday! We had a surprise party for him and he was really totally surprised! Mike, Hannah, Eric and I went to a movie in the afternoon and then out to the Cheesecake Factory for dinner. I had prearranged for his friend, Chelsea, come over to the house and decorate and let everyone in. When we arrived, everyone was in the basement and they were completely quiet. I asked Eric to go downstairs to get his laptop and they all shouted, "SURPRISE!" He said it really scared him at first, but that he was super excited. It was a great birthday for him.
He is going on two years working at DQ, so we had to get him a DQ ice cream cake.

He was a happy young man. He is such a nice kid and we are going to miss him so much when he is at college next year. He got acceptance letters from USU and the University of Utah. He's waiting to hear from BYU before he makes a final decision.

Happy Birthday, Eric!

Thanks for all the updates...
Hannah looks so happy with that kitty, she's getting so pretty too.
We are proud of Eric, that's cool he's doing his own thing and applying to more than one school.
Surprises are great, I'm sure you made their day(s)

Lucy is very cute! and Bess is very jealous of Hannah....too bad her dad is allergic. We'll just have to come visit to play with her.

Your Thanksgiving looks very yummy and relaxing. Now you can gear up for that yummy Christmas dinner.

We're very excited for Eric to be closer out here to us. Tell him if he goes to the University of Utah he can come live with us!? I am sure he'd love that.
Also tell him Carter thinks his long hair is pretty dang cool.

Lucy is really cute. I'm going to have a hard time convincing Erin to stay away from the animal shelter after seeing you guys on Friday.
