We had a fun family outing for Martin Luther King Day. We are grateful for him and all he did to help our country with working towards more equality for all people and for helping people reach for their dreams!
"I have a dream that one day this nation will rise up and live out the true meaning of its creed: 'We hold these truths to be self-evident: that all men are created equal." 1963
"I have a dream that my four little children will one day live in a nation where they will not be judged by the color of their skin but by the content of their character." MLK 1963
We used our wonderful grandparent's pass to Thanksgiving Point to take some of the family to the Butterfly Biosphere. It was a busy holiday but it was still so much fun. Such a joy to see children experience nature up close and personal.
There was this exhibit where you compare your strength with the strength of bugs and animals relative to size. You push on this boulder and it records how many pounds you are pushing. The record for the day was 507 pounds and Joni took it upon herself to break that record. Everyone worked together and altogether on the count of three pushed with all of our might. After a few tries, we beat the record and made it to 755 pounds!
We had a delicious lunch at Cubby's afterwards.
Can I just say, days like today are the happiest, best days!
