The last few days of August meant finishing off our summer to do list which included canning peaches from our own peach tree and going to a Salt Lake Bees baseball game.
Our peach tree produced hundreds of peaches and they were so delicious. Canning was relatively easy but time consuming. The end results were beautiful!
Here we are at the Bee's game. It was so hot and humid but it was a lot of fun. We rode the train to the game and back which was fun too. Kind of scary catching it back at 11:00 at night, but it all turned out fine.
Our labor day weekend was a lot of fun. My niece, Marissa, brought her two college kids, Avi and Kobe, to BYU, so she stayed with us for the weekend. One of the many reasons we love living here is we get to see lots of people coming and going from BYU or visiting Salt Lake, etc. It's a great location for seeing family and friends!
I didn't get a picture, but our friends, Kimbal and Kim Hancock were in town and we had dinner with them at PF Chang's in Orem on Saturday, August 31. It was such fun catching up with them. We love and miss our Colorado friends so much!
Glen and Kendi came down for the weekend and we got them on Saturday. We had a fun time taking the kids to the dinosaur museum. Joni, Ellie and Reese moved to Lehi on Saturday as well. We are so happy to have them five minutes away from us now! Eric, Chase and Joel drove to Vernal to help her load her truck and they all arrived in Lehi Saturday afternoon around 4.
We had a family dinner on Sunday and welcomed Joni, Ellie and Reese back. Then on Monday, Labor Day, some of us went on a fun hike in a canyon in Salt Lake and then had a chicken bbq in the afternoon. So much fun having so much family close by!
Monday night, Mike and I had the treat of going to see the Dutton Family perform in the big barn at Thanksgiving Point. They have a big show in Branson, Missouri and came here for a one night only performance. My sister, Kathy, used to work for them and was in their ward in Branson when she used to live there. She highly recommended we go and so we bought tickets. We were in the front row and it was a fantastic show. They are so talented and play all sorts of instruments and sing and dance. It's quite a family show. We loved it!
It's still officially summer until September 23, but it always seems like summer is over after Labor Day. Kids are back in school, the days start getting cooler (and nights). We get to turn off the a/c and open windows. Halloween and Fall decor are in all the stores. Fall is such a fun season and I'm ready and excited to welcome it here!
