Ryan, Ali and their girls moved to Dickson, Tennessee, which is just outside of Nashville. I am so excited about their move and couldn't wait to get down there to see their new home and community. We visited Nashville a few years ago with my sister Kathy after Todd's PHD ceremony at Ole Miss and we loved it. Such a fun and beautiful place to live!

They got all unpacked and everything set up and decorated super fast! It's a beautiful home and just right for their family. We did a lot in a little bit of time. We went to a fun state park with a swimming section, played in a fun creek, they showed me some of their new friends cute homes (and farm), listened to live music in Nashville, ate at Hattie B's, had Dickson Donuts and so much more!

The Listening Room—live, original music from up and coming singer, song writers. We met there with some of their new friends. The lighting made us all look like we were sunburned. We weren't.

Okay, so maybe I’m the only that sees it but I think the AT&T building in Nashville looks like they put a replica of the Washington DC Temple up on top of a skyscraper! |

We had lunch at this darling little Pinewood cafe. There's a big sign just before you get to it and it says welcome to Downtown Pinewood, Tennessee and it consists of exactly this restaurant and a little general store across the street! So sweet. Unfortunately, it no longer exists, since the flood that occurred shortly after we were there destroyed it and the owners are unable to rebuild. So sad!

After lunch, we went to Piney Creek and played in the water. It was part of the huge flood a week or so later.
We went over and had a tour of their new friend's, the Glover's, farm and she told us all of their plans to raise quails and chickens and to have their barn transformed into an event center, and their other barn to become an apartment for her parents to live in. They had just moved to Dickson from Las Vegas about the same time as Ali and Ryan and were so excited about everything. Their old farmhouse had been remodeled by the previous owner and it was so adorable! Ali and I were both sort of envious of the whole farm.
Unfortunately, it is located right next to the Piney Creek and their whole farm was flooded by that awful flood. They had water up to the second floor of the house and had to be rescued by boat. Their home is a total loss and all of their belongings are gone. Luckily they will be able to save both the barns. They will rebuild and start over with all their wonderful plans.
I have been following Meghann on Instagram and she is so faithful and loves the Lord and has been a rock through all of it. Of course, it's hard and she has a lot of rough days, but she is mostly positive and looks at the blessings that come from adversity. For example, they found a lot of black mold behind the walls of their home which would have eventually made them sick and they may have never known the cause of the illness. She praises the Lord all the time and encourages people to hold to their faith and to believe in God and His promises. I love her so much!
These are some pictures she took during the flood. Sure brought back a lot of memories of our flood in 2013! Makes me never want to live by a creek or river again!
Fortunately for Ryan and Ali, their home is on a hill and the water ran down to the bottom and collected there and there wasn't any damage to their home.
Here are some fun pics of the rest of my trip!
