Tyler got a sleeve tattoo and has been coming to Utah to have it worked on. His last two appointments were this weekend and it happened to be Valentine's Day and President's Day weekend so kids and dad's were off School and work. Tyler and his three kids and Ryan and Ali and their three girls caravanned over and stayed with us for the long weekend! It was so much fun. Todd and Kimiko and their three boys joined the fun on Saturday, but unfortunately had to leave in the night due to a stomach bug. We had a great day with them before they left.
Friday: Everyone slept in a little since they arrived late on Thursday night. We went to lunch and then to the Butterfly Biosphere at Thanksgiving Point. Two of our favorite lunch spots are located next door to each other so Ryan and I got J Dawgs and the others had Zupas. Everyone was happy!
Sunday: Mike and I sang in our stake conference via Zoom. We sang "Consider the Lilies" which we have sung many times and has become our signature piece. Ali and the kids watched us sing via her phone and they all said it was good when we got home. So grateful for heavenly help with my nerves.
The kids created clay sculptures and played in the morning, went in the hot tub, played some more and had a great time. Todd and Ryan went skiing/snow boarding to Solitude. Todd took his family home at 3 am so that they wouldn't get anyone else in our house sick. That was so thoughtful, but then he turned around and drove back and met Ryan at the ski resort! He must have been so tired. They had a good time together. Tyler had his final tattoo appointment and I prepared for our Valentine dinner.
We had spaghetti and meatballs, heart-shaped garlic bread, salad, Shirley Temples to drink and cake and ice cream for dessert. We sang happy birthday to Chase and Hannah whose birthdays are a week apart on February 7 and 16. It was a lively celebration dinner!
Afterwards we played Code Names and the kids played downstairs. Our basement is great for large groups. There is a lot to do down there with lots of toys and of course the kids all like their Ipads.
