Our hike started in a slot canyon very close to our parking spot which was lucky because it was already close to 100 degrees outside! It was fun walking sideways thru the slot but it was a little claustrophobic in a couple of spots that some of us weren’t sure we would be able to squeeze through. The little kids all thought it was super easy because they are so little and could walk straight through. I couldn’t quite climb up to the three foot ledge to climb out at the end so Todd literally pulled me straight up by my hands from the top. It was quite miraculous. Justin had to catch me at the bottom of a drop on the way back down after the hike and we lost our footing a little and I rolled my ankle but it didn’t ever really hold me back from any of the activities! I have learned I am a pretty tough old gal who can keep up pretty well with the younger generations. I’ve been very blessed.
After the slot, we walked up on the red cliffs a bit until it was just too hot! Nice view of the temple and the city and nice spot for some family pictures.
After this fun adventure, we headed to Swig for some cool down sodas and then on to Town Square Park where the kids had fun in the water features there. We had chick-fil-a and Swigs for lunch. Yum!
So believe it or not it got too hot there at the park even in the water, so we headed back to our pool for the rest of the afternoon.
Dinner this night was Ryan and Ali’s delicious spaghetti and meatballs with salad and bread. Ali mixes marinara sauce with Alfredo sauce and it is so good! Moore games and music for our evening activities. The kids all have iPads and had fun playing mind craft together. We wore them out in the sun all day so they needed some down time in the evenings. They also liked playing sardines in all three condos, dancing and other fun kid stuff like some fun coloring and activity things Miko brought! They got along so well! It was so fun to watch the kids interacting.
