Eric and I went down a couple of days ahead and spent a couple of nights with our friends, Janice and Cal Simmons who recently moved there. We had a fun visit with them and Janice and I had a nice visit on Monday afternoon with Kathy Kinney (our good family friend) while Eric worked all day from the Simmons house.
Tyler and his boys arrived Monday evening so Eric and I met them for dinner at Zupas, Crumbl cookies for dessert and then went swimming with them at their hotel.
Monday morning Eric and I went for a hike in Snow Canyon. It was really fun and some parts were challenging. We went inside a lava tube which was fascinating.
After our hike we met Tyler and his boys for brunch at Village Inn, then cleaned up, packed up at the Simmons, said good bye to them for now, and headed to our condos to see everyone else and officially get the reunion started!
Our condos were in a great location just off the freeway on the north end of St George at the Hurricane exit. We had three side by side condos that took up the entire 2nd floor and all attached by their front balconies. It was a perfect set up with each couple having a master suite and Tyler, Eric and I all having our own rooms. There were three bunk rooms that the kids used and six bathrooms so we felt like there was plenty of room. We had a nice pool that we used every day and practically had it all to ourselves.
First afternoon we chose our rooms, unpacked, some went to Costco, and some of us went to the pool. First night dinner was Costco pizza which was delicious! Afterwards we all played games and visited. It was so good being together and to just be chillin'. It honestly felt so good to get away from the news, politics and COVID-19. The world felt normal for a few days. We kept the social distance rules from other people outside our family group and if anyone in our group wasn’t feeling well for a bit, they were careful not to be with the big group.
That evening, after dinner, we played games and visited. Our top games of the week were Code Names, Bananagrams, and Jackbox games. The littles loved playing Mind Craft on their ipads.
