July 4, 2019, Lehi, Utah!

Happy Independence Day!  We are so grateful to live in the USA!!  We are so blessed in so many ways to live in this great country.  We don't ever want to take for granted the freedoms we enjoy and the people and events throughout history that have helped to form this nation and to keep it free and beautiful!

 We started our day with a beautiful bike ride from our house to Utah Lake in Saratoga Springs. 

We had a nice afternoon BBQ which we had to eat inside because of a strange change in the afternoon weather.  This little star spangled gal sure makes us smile!

Eric made this amazing blueberry pound cake with homemade whipped cream and strawberries.  Wowza!!

 

Utah is crazy for fireworks.  There were tons right in our neighborhood, plus we could see professional ones at Thanksgiving Point sitting in our lawn chairs at the end of the street with some of our neighbors.  Hannah bought a few and we set them off in front of our house!

I love this scripture in the Book of Mormon prophesying about this great land.  May we love and serve our God and Savior, Jesus Christ, all our days, with all of our hearts so that our land may be free from bondage and captivity.  Happy 4th!
