BYU Education Week! August 15-18, 2016

Sunday, August 14, we went to church with Kathy and then she made us breakfast and sack lunches and we hit the road for Cedar City to pick up our car and then on to Provo.  Eric made dinner for us and Nancy and Dale at his apartment along with his roommates and Hannah and Chase.  It's always so much fun to stay at Cindi and Jeff's.  They are so good to us.  They were actually gone on a business trip most of the week so we took care of their house for them (along with their son, Aaron, who was there too).

We loved being at BYU and went to some wonderful, unlifting and enriching classes.  We learned about the tough times ahead, dealing with stress, setting life goals, getting more out of gospel study, benefits of humor, the science of happiness, the Atoning Powers of Christ and so much more!  We attended classes by Janice Kapp Perry and Michael Ballam.  Elder Holland was the keynote speaker!  It was an incredible week!

We ate at JDawgs, (of course)!  Nancy and Dale hadn't eaten there before.  We met some of our missionary friends from the MBM at Chuck a Rama for dinner one night--the Packards, Walshes, Conlees, Elder Ribiero, Elder Chan.  It was a lot of fun.  We helped Hannah and Chase decorate their apartment, went to a temple session at the Provo City Center Temple, ate at Zupa's, got ice cream at the Creamery and Swig with Eric.  We had dinner with Larry and Wendy at Brick Oven (Heaps of Pizza) also with N&D and Eric, Hannah and Chase.  We went to see South Pacific at BYU (but sadly not a BYU performance and it wasn't too good.)

Cindi and Jeff came back on Thursday night so we visited with them a little bit and then on Friday Cindi made delicious cheese and tomato sandwiches with tomatoes from their garden and we had those and chocolate cake for breakfast!  So fun!

We headed home on Friday after breakfast so we could do wash, check on things at home, go to a temple ordinance worker training meeting on Sunday night for the new Ft. Collins Temple and pack for our trip to Seattle, Whidbey Island and our cruise to Alaska!  Still going strong and still having a blast!

This is the view from our bedroom window at Cindi and Jeff's house!  Amazing!

We are excited for the open houses that start soon for our new temple!  We are thrilled to have the opportunity to serve there each week starting in October!
