We had 45 members of our family in attendance at the funeral services. That says volumes about how much Dad was loved and how much he will be missed. He was a true Patriarch in our family and led us with love and taught us to love each other and to love and serve the Lord.

All the grandchildren and great-grandchildren that were in attendance sang a beautiful rendition of "Families Can Be Together Forever." What a sweet comfort that song is to all of us to know that we will be reunited with our sweet dad and grandpa and with each other again someday.

Hannah with her grandma! They have been blessed to have a very sweet relationship since Hannah's birth. Mom was present in the delivery room when Hannah took her first breath in this world!
I felt so blessed to have some of my sweet family in attendance at the funeral. Here we have Justin and Rachael, Eric, (adopted son Devin), Jaimee, Tyler, me and Hannah. Mike was at the funeral and gave a beautiful talk that tied Dad's life experiences and example in with the Plan of Salvation. He also attended the luncheon but then hitched a ride home with Gordon and Francis Langford shortly afterwards. He was kind enough to go back early to free up some space in our vehicle since we were bringing Mom, Nancy, and Kathy back to Longmont with us.

Justin celebrated his 27th birthday on Friday, March 14th. We had a cake for him and sang Happy Birthday!

Valerie, Sebastian, Mom, and NancyThe funeral services were very nice and I think we all felt the Spirit in the room. I think that Dad would have been very happy with how it all went. Mike gave a nice talk, Bob read the obituary, Kathy and Pat gave beautiful tributes, Hannah and I sang, "May The Road Rise to Meet You," the grand and great grandkids sang and family members gave prayer and led the music. I know that Mom was very touched and loved having so many of her family around her.
Sunday, my car full headed back to Longmont! On Monday morning at 11 am at the Mountain View Cemetery in Longmont we had a Graveside Service and burial for Dad. It was a beautiful snowy day but it wasn't too cold. It was quiet and so peaceful with a lovely blanket of snow on the ground and flocking the trees. We had a lot of Mom and Dad's friends in attendance. Mom seemed very pleased to greet so many of their old friends. Brother Palmer, who read the obituary, referred to Dad as his best friend. Their were some sweet remembrances shared by one of their past Bishop's, Grant Christensen. It was very fitting that he was buried on St. Patrick's Day.
The American Legion in Longmont provided full military honors which included a 21-gun salute, echo taps, and the folding and presenting of the flag to Mom. She was very touched by the whole ceremony as was everyone there. It was a beautiful and very patriotic ceremony.
Singing "I Am A Child Of God."
Some of the friends and family who braved the snow to come show their respects for Dad.
Echo Taps--there was another man playing on the other side of the service.
The Longmont American Legion presented the 21-gun salute.
Presenting our sweet mom with the American flag. Fausett Mortuary presented her with a beautiful triangle shaped wooden box to display the flag in.Our Relief Society provided a lovely luncheon at our home after the service and most people came over to visit and relax. It was a sad day to say our final (but temporary) goodbyes, but it was a wonderful tribute to a beautiful life.

Seeing all the pictures from Utah make us long to be together with family again. It was such a nice time to remember and celebrate Mimo's life and enjoy each other's company. Thank you for posting the burial photos. It looked like the service was lovely and dignified...just like Mimo.
We love you all,
Bob & Melissa & Family
Susan: That was a nice job on the blog and tribute to your dad. It was an honor for me to both speak at his funeral and dedicate the grave. He is buried next to one of my other best friends, Homer Gardner. There was such an outpouring of love at both locations. We are so pleased that so many friends and family could participate honoring his memory. It is a joy having your mom live with us for a few months. Love, Mike
Thanks for posting those pictures along with your comments.
That was a wonderful post Aunt Susan. I really really enjoyed it. Thank you. I especially love the picture of Mima with Hannah, they are so cute together! It was nice to see how the graveside services went...it seemed perfect.
It's neat to see all those pictures of the family together. What a huge posterity he left behind.
I am not going to lie I am not a huge fan of the burial part of the funeral and those pictures of your mom at the grave site make me sad.
It's good to know what we do.
We were thinking of you and sorry we didn't make it there.
Love you guys!
