February Goings-Ons

Happy Birthday, Hannah!!
Hannah turned 14 on February 16th! She is a beautiful young lady inside and out and we are blessed and thrilled to pieces to have her in our lives!

Proud parents of the birthday girl!

Ryan and his girlfriend, Ali, drove over from Logan to spend the long President's Holiday weekend with us. It was a double treat since it was also Hannah birthday. We had a lot of fun playing guitar hero, of course, as well as PS2's Singstar. We ate lots of yummy food. Hannah wanted Crepes for her b-day breakfast and then she chose to go to Red Lobster for dinner. (Instead of having a big party.) We really enjoyed meeting Ali. She is a darling girl and she and Ryan make a very nice couple.

Hannah and best-friend Lexie enjoyed sharing an Alaskan King Crab dinner! I think they ate every bit that they could scrape out of those legs!! Yum! We sure love the Red Lobster biscuits!

Ali and Eric at Red Lobster! Ali fit right in with the family.

Sweet girls!

Happy Birthday dear Hannah, Happy Birthday to YOU!!

Some other fun things we did over the weekend--dancing to Mike's lovely piano music in the living room! We also played games and watched some movies. It was a very relaxing weekend for all of us.
The past couple of weeks my dad has been clinging to life in the Castleview Hospital in Price, Utah. We seriously thought that he was going to pass away, but somehow he is miraculously pulling through. He was admitted with a very bad case of double pneumonia. He was truly in the Lord's hands and it seems that he still has work yet to do in this life because around Sunday, February 24th, he took a turn for the better and started to improve. He will be going to a care center for about a month so that he can do some intensive rehabilition. He has lost quite a bit of weight and muscle and will need to build himself back up a bit before going home to Pat and Kathy's in Green River!

My sister, Nancy, our mom, and I stayed in a motel next door to the hospital from last Tuesday night until Monday. We spent most of the time sitting right by dad's bedside. We alternated between sitting with him and going out for food--we ate a lot of Wendy's and Taco Bell! We were so glad that we could be there to support dad and also so that mom could stay right by his side. I really think it made a difference. It was also very good for Nancy and I to be there so that we could give Pat and Kathy a break. They were making the 2 hour round trip drive most everyday and it was good for them to be able to stay home for a couple of days in a row. They still came to the hosptial, but they didn't have to be there as often or as long since we were there. They have sure been taking good care of our parents and we all love and appreciate them so very much.

My Utah kids came down on Saturday afternoon and stayed the night with us. It was so good to have them with us. They really enjoyed Grandma as always. She entertained us with some good laughing and some tap-dancing! At one point, we were all dancing in the hospital room! Of course dad pulled through--he didn't want to miss a thing!! Mom has been a real trooper. She has wanted to be there by her "Charlie's" side and never complained once about a single thing.

We are so grateful that he is improving every day. Each day that we get to keep him with us is truly a blessing.

Sweethearts for nearly 64 years!!
Ryan and Ali, and Tyler and Jaimee! They are sweet, fun couples. I think it helped Grandpa to perk up when these two darling girls came into the room!

Elise Brady and Grandma Jean Brady celebrating their birthdays! Elise is 1 and Grandma is 85!

Good to hear that your dad is doing better. I remember growing up that he was our hometeacher - he's always been a very kind man.

Happy Birthday again to Hannah. We tried to call but didn't have a lot of luck getting through.

Nice that you got to see your boys. Remember that if any of you are passing through Salt Lake, our door is open. - Glen

I enjoyed the update, we feel like we are missing out on a lot of happenings from your part of the world, especially seeing everyone grow up so fast.
Happy Birthday Hannah, we are proud of the person you've become. It feels like yesterday we were running around the house with pom poms on our heads.
Miss you guys.

Happy Birthday Hannah. Looks like you had a very nice time.
Rayn's girlfriend is very cute and looks nice. She looks an awlful lot like Jaimee.
It's sad seeing dad looking so weak. It's great that you got to go and be such a support along with Nancy. I'm glad that he is improving.

Sorry to see your Dad looking so sick. I too remember him as a dedicated and kind home teacher.

Happy Birthday lovely Hannah! You really are lovely in every way! I am also really sorry that Chuck has declined so quickly, and am touched but not surprised at the love the family is showering on him right now. You all remain so positive and loving - you're in our prayers! I also think that Ali is lovely, and she and Jaimee could pass for sisters, though I'm sure they are unique! Looks like happy times!
Love,
Melecia
