Moore August, Spencer's Birthday, St. George, Archer, 2022

My nephew, Spencer Brady, has been living with Eric and Ben for a couple of months while he gets his feet back on the ground after separating from his wife, Brittany.  It's been a hard time for him and we were happy to go to Bob and Melissa's home in Salem to join them and Bob and Lydia and Chris and Emily's family for a birthday celebration for Spencer.

A few months ago, or maybe even a year or so ago, I heard that David Archuleta was going to be playing the role of Joseph in "Joseph and the Amazing Technicolor Dreamcoat" at Tuachan in St. George.  Eric, Ben and I planned a little trip to see it.  Eric was able to get us really great seats only about 5 rows from the stage and they were only like $40! We stayed two nights at my friend's Jo and Jim's vacation home.  It was hot and we took full advantage of their wonderful pool!  It was a great mini-vacation!

On the way down, on Thursday, August 25, we stopped at a little Mexican restaurant along the highway.  I got these delicious carne asada cheese fries!  Eric got carne asada tacos and Ben got lengua (beef tongue) and carne asada tacos. Yikes! He said they were delicious!

We had time for a quick swim after we arrived and then we had dinner at a highly recommended restaurant named Benja in downtown St. George.  It was delicious! Ben's sister, Sarah, met us back at the house and from there we went to the show.

Tuachan is a magical venue in the red rocks by Snow Canyon.  It was a perfect evening; still hot but it did cool down nicely.  David Archuleta was perfect and the show was truly amazing!

Such a fun evening!  Could not stop smiling.  I have loved David Archuleta since he was the runner-up on American Idol so many years ago.  I was so happy to see him in this wonderful production.

On Friday, we drove to Hurricane to see Ben's sister Sarah's house that she and her husband had helped build.  They built it along with 8 other families on their street.  They all helped each other and no one could move in until they were all completed.  They had a general contract and some sub contractors for a few things, but they all worked a certain amount of hours a week for a few months until they were done.  It is a beautiful home and almost complete!

Afterwards, we grabbed some sodas, then went downtown and did a little exploring including some murals and a tour of Brigham Young's winter home.

We went back to Jo's and had a nice swim and then got ready for our drive to Mesquite to get all you can eat crab legs and prime rib!  We met Kathy Kinney and she went with us.  She's so much fun and we all had a great time.  It wasn't King Crab, but it was still delicious.  Dip anything in butter and lemon and it's pretty dang good!

We drove back to St. George and relaxed for the evening.  We watched a scary movie, Disturbia, popped popcorn and just chilled.  They have a nice hot tub that we got to use as well.  Such a lovely home.  I feel so blessed to have such wonderful, generous friends.

We left St. George on Saturday morning and drove to Cedar City where Eric and Ben picked up their new little Brittany Spaniel from a breeder there.  He's a very cute little guy.  We bounced names back and forth and they settled on Archer.  Now they have Bait and Archer.
