Las Vegas, September 30-October 2, 2021

Back in the Spring, I entered and won an Instagram contest to see Donny Osmond in Las Vegas!  It included meet and greet tickets to his concert, a night's stay at Harrah's Hotel, dinner for two at Ruth's Chris Restaurant, and 2 Minky Couture blankets!  Pretty great prizes!

September 30, Mike and I flew to Vegas and started our adventure!  We took an airport shuttle to the hotel which is right on the Vegas Strip so we didn't need a car.  We quickly learned that all the shuttles stop at a liquor store and everyone except us got off and loaded up on alcohol.  Awkward!  Oh well, everyone was friendly and we quietly drank our water bottles.

Flying over Lake Mead and Hoover Dam

We arrived in the early afternoon and got to our hotel around 2:30.  We had a few hours to explore before our dinner experience.

Our dinner reservations were at 6:30 and the restaurant was in our hotel.  We were very excited about this meal since we had never been to Ruth's Chris before.  We had heard all about it and how their steaks melt in your mouth.  Nancy said to be sure and close our eyes and just savor the first bite for a few seconds.  It was so good and we were well cared for.  In fact, our waiter kept bringing us things that we would think sounded good but then said no to and he would bring them anyway.  Needless to say, after two appetizers, salads, huge steaks and lobster tails, several sides, and two desserts, we were stuffed!  The bill was outrageous and we felt a little guilty about it, but it was paid for and it was amazing!

Ready for a nap!

After dinner, we needed to walk off some of the food so we went down the strip and watched the water show at the Bellagio.  It is always stunning!  One thing we noticed the minute we walked out the door of our hotel is that the Las Vegas Strip smells like Marijuana.  It literally smells like it is being piped onto the street.  It was so nasty smelling and there was no getting away from it.  Yuck!  There were a lot of show girls on the Strip with very little clothing on who kept wanting to take pictures with Mike!  Haha, tried to sneak past them and avoided that!

Day 2 was a very full and fun day!  We searched online for fun things to do in Vegas and found several.  We had brunch at Mon Ami Gabi in Paris.  It was delicious!  We explored the fabulous botanical garden in the lobby of the Bellagio and we walked what felt like miles in the Forum shops in Caesar's Palace.

Did you know that Pepsi actually has rights to most of the big resorts on the Strip?  I wore my Coke shirt in support of Diet Coke.  No Coke at Ruth's Chris, or Mon Ami Gabi.

It felt like we were in Paris for a minute!  Sure hope to go there someday!

This was the ceiling of the entrance to the Bellagio!  They have a beautiful botanical gardens that we loved!

They change this little botanical garden seasonally and it is so pretty!

Chocolate fountain!

After leaving the Bellagio, we went into Ceasar's Palace and walked through the Forum Mall.  It was so big and went on and on.  Lots of high end stores.  There were lines out the door at the Louis Vuitton stores!

Found a Coke kiosk!

Our pool at Harrah's.  I really wanted to swim but the water was freezing!

It was a fun and full day!  Next up, Donny!
