April 15th, a week after Tyler and Jaimee were here with their kids and successfully got under contract on a house, Ryan and Ali came out to look for one for them. They brought Claire with them and we had so much fun with her! She is such a doll and was so good. She didn't like getting in and out of that car seat so much, but she was a good sport about everything!
They flew in from Texas on Wednesday and drove directly to the Springs and looked at houses all day with their realtor. We met them after our temple shift at the Costa Vida in Lone Tree. It's only about a 30 minute drive from North Co. Springs to there.
Mike drove home after dinner and I joined them and we spent the night at some of Ali's family friend's home in Castle Pines. Thursday, we drove down and looked at their top four choices plus a few more that came up and they ended up signing a contract for a new build about 20 minutes southeast of Tyler and Jaimee's. It's beautiful and will be perfect for their family.
We feel like both families got just what they were looking for and feel like it's going to be so great having them all within a two hour drive from us!
It rained/snowed/hailed/sleeted all day Thursday and was pretty cold on Friday as well. It finally warmed up enough on Saturday so that we could take a nice walk to the park!
Ryan requested Eggs Creole for Saturday morning breakfast. That was a treat!
Claire is such a darling little baby! So glad they brought her along! We missed Sadie, but know she had a blast with her other grandparents in San Antonio!
So glad both families found their homes and are looking forward to their moves!
While Ryan and Ali were here, we got a fun surprise phone call from one of our favorite missionaries who served here about a year and a half ago, Elder Madison Seawell. He was in Boulder and heading to Longmont and wanted to stop by and see us. We had a great visit with him. He's heading to Chicago to do Summer pest control sales. We wish him the best of luck!
We are having so much fun in our new calling as Stake Missionary Housing Specialists. Here are our zone leaders who are in our ward and will soon be living with us, Elder Welch and Elder Johnson. We had them over for dinner and I made a homemade banana cream pie! It was delicious. We have been going around and visiting all the missionaries and their host families and making sure all is well in the Longmont Zone! For the most part, all is well!
I am also serving as the Relief Society Meeting Coordinator in our ward and we did container gardening for our activity this past week. I did the segment on Fairy Gardens and these are the ones I made:
We are getting so excited for Spring and Summer weather! Everything is getting so green and beautiful and we love working out in the yard and the flower beds. We are blessed to live in such favorable surroundings and to have such a wonderful world all around us! Enjoy all of God's bounties and remember what President Gordon B. Hinckley said, "Life is to be enjoyed, not just endured!"
