We got back to Nancy and Dale's place and watered the flowers, unpacked, took a swim, and had a light supper. After it cooled down a little, we took a bike ride around St. James through some of the cute neighborhoods.
I got a couple of texts from Nancy saying that their trip was perfect. Their kids honored them for their anniversary and it was very touching and memorable for them.
We had Friday and Saturday at Nancy and Dale's house alone. They got back late Saturday night. On Friday, we packed a lunch and went to the beach for a few hours. The water was so warm. We played out in the waves for a long time. Came back and I swam and read in the pool and Mike went to the store and got some steaks to grill for dinner. We had a delicious dinner out by the pool--steaks, corn on the cob, and watermelon.
On Saturday, I wasn't feeling great so we just hung around the house, slept in, watered the flowers, read on the couch and napped. Around 4:00, we got pizza and salad on Oak Island and ate at the St. James Beach Club then went down to the beach for a couple of hours. It was a nice time of day to be there, less heat and less people. Got ice cream on Oak Island on the way home. Made cookies for Nancy and Dale's return as well as a spinach dip that we took to the Linger Longer after church the next day.
We were happy to have Nancy and Dale back. We still had three days with them and had a lot of fun. More beach time, more pool time, dinner at Fishy Fishy and a sunset cruise on the water in Southport.
We passed by an island that is a designated bird refuge and saw so many birds!
What a great end to our perfect vacation! On Tuesday, we packed up and drove to Myrtle Beach, had lunch at a really great Italian restaurant and then went to see the Elvis movie before catching our flight. We all enjoyed it and thought the actor who played Elvis did an extraordinary job. He had a sad life and a manager who was pretty corrupt, (played by Tom Hanks who also did an amazing job).
We had to say goodbye and headed home! We had good flights and made it home safely at about 1:00 am. Eric and Ben met us at the airport and brought us home. They are so nice and helpful! Good to be home but can't wait to go back! The beach is calling!
