Missions and temples and more, oh my!

One of my very best friends and former roommate from BYU days, Cheryl, and her husband, Cody Larsen, returned from a two year mission to Spain/Canary Islands. They had their missionary homecoming on Sunday while we were still in Utah. It was great to see them and to hear the wonderful experiences they had while serving.

It was a special treat to have one of my sisters, Nancy, with us for the weekend. On Sunday morning Todd joined us before catching his flight back to Mississippi and we went to see the Mormon Tabernacle Choir broadcast.
It was very touching and we felt very close to Paul as the choir sang songs that were sung at his funeral, "Be Still My Soul" and "God Be With You Til We Meet Again."

On Friday night, we got to see Hannah perform in her opera concert and on Saturday we got to watch a dance competition in the Marriott Center and see the beautifully restored Provo City Center Temple while having dinner at a waffle place on Center Street.

We have some very dear friends, Janice and Cal Simmons, who only lived in Longmont for a few months and then moved back to Bountiful. They seem more like lifelong friends and we love spending time with them when we can.  They let us, Nancy and Addie stay with them over the weekend and it was such a blessing to us.  We felt such love, peace and comfort in their home.

It was a hard, sad weekend but we rejoice in our Savior's love and the hope of eternal life where we will be with our family and friends forever. ❤️
