Estes Park with Micah B. October 24, 2015

We had the blessing of having our nephew, Micah, stay with us for a couple of weeks! He was so close to relocating here but in the end decided it wasn't to be-- at least not for now....  We wanted to show him some of the best things we have to offer so naturally we headed to the mountains; Estes Park and Rocky Mountain National Park. It was a perfect day!

We were hoping for nice weather and to see some Elk and we got both!

This guy looks like he is fenced in but he actually jumped over the fence and is grazing in a dog park!  

Our puppy was the star of the day! I carried her in this sling and so many people came up to me and wanted to pet her and talk about her or talk about their Yorkies! It was crazy how popular you are when you have an adorable little puppy with you!!

Our first stop was the famous Stanley Hotel where the Shining and parts of Dumb and Dumber were filmed. It was the weekend before Halloween and they were having a "Shining Ball!" Wish we could have gone to that!

After exploring the Stanley, we saw downtown and had great burgers at Penelope's. 

We ate outside at that table (in the mountains in October)! We couldn't get over how nice the weather was!

On our way up to the National Park we saw these two just standing in someone's front yard.

Alberta Falls were gorgeous!

This was the line at the Bear Lake parking lot waiting for the shuttle to lower lots. We got so lucky and found a spot in this lot and didn't have to wait in this line.

The park ranger told us that they were called to come to work because of the beautiful weather and unusually large numbers of visitors. The regular season is over and the Rangers were all off duty! It literally was like a Disney line!! 

We had such a nice day and totally enjoyed being with Micah. We saw this guy on the way home.
