Hannah's Mission Farewell Weekend, July 26-30, 2013

The wonderful/dreaded (just kidding) week of Hannah's farewell and departure arrived just as scheduled!  It was a very bittersweet time in our lives but such a fantastic adventure ahead for her for the next 18 months!  She worked very hard this summer and was well prepared to leave for her mission in Joao Pessoa, Brazil!  We waited patiently to hear news on whether her VISA would arrive in time for her to go to the Sao Paulo Brazil MTC and about a week before she left, it arrived!!  She was so happy to have the opportunity to go straight to Brazil!

Here are a few pictures of her last days at home before getting on that plane to Brazil!!

Hannah was excited to have three of her brothers come for her special weekend.  Tyler, Ryan, and Todd came to support their little sister and to have a fun weekend playing golf and getting in some brother time.

Hannah worked hard all summer preparing for a classical vocal recital which she presented on Friday, July 26th, at our church building.  It was originally planned for another venue, but we found out the day before that the city had an outdoor rock band concert in front of that church building.  We scrambled to figure out where to move it to and were pleased with the decision to have it at our church in the cultural hall.  There were over 100 people in attendance and she gave a beautiful performance.  We were thrilled with all of the friends and family who came out to support her.

It was a perfect evening.  I had several friends bring cookies and other goodies who also helped serve afterwards.  We had several of our neighbors come from our current neighborhood and also from our Amethyst Drive neighborhood.

Moore fun in Colorado! said...

This was one of the most memorable times in my life as well. Hannah has Swiss ancesters who are also small people: Grandma Minnie and and Great Grandma Moore (Mildred Boshard and Anna Marie Davies). They are all sweet souls in little bodies who understand the importance of living the gospel of Jesus Christ. I'm sure they know Hannah and are with her as guardians along with others who love and want to protect her. Hannah's mom and dad are very blessed to have her in our lives.
