Estes Park, August 11, 2011

Hannah and I took a fun day trip to Estes Park with our good friends the Dawson's, well part of their family at least--Andrea, Michael, Emma, and Spencer, as well as Andrea's darling sister Breanne.  We stopped at the overlook just before you get to Estes and saw lots of chipmunks (who come right up and eat out of your hand) and wild turkeys (who don't come up to you at all).  The kids loved it, especially the little kids.

We have known Andrea (Stones) for forever!  She used to babysit for our kids and I was her Laurel advisor many years ago.  I still refer to her as "our" Andrea.  She has long grown up, married and moved away, but her wonderful parents are in our ward so we still get to see her and the rest of their awesome family often.  Andrea and her husband, Ben, are moving to Virginia and she and the kids have spent the summer with her parents as they have been waiting for housing.  Hannah and Michael have know each other since they were little kids and this summer has been so much fun for them to get to know each other better and do lots of fun things with the kids in our ward.  We will really miss them when they leave!

Another "wildlife" shirt to add to Hannah's wardrobe for "wolf shirt Wednesdays" at Niwot!

All tired out from our fun outing to the mountains!  We never get tired of going up there.  It feels like a little vacation, and it's only 45 minutes from our front door!
